Pioneers and the then great personalities Mr. N. J. Helly, Sir Jahangir Gandhi, Mr. Cunningham, Mr. P. H. Kuthar, Mr. S. K. Nanavati, Mr. Nirmal Chatterjee & Others visualizing the need of FIRST- AIDERS in Tata Iron & Steel Company Ltd. made efforts to establish St. JOHN AMBULANCE BRIGADE sub district in June 1939 at Jamshedpur mentioned dignified personalities were leading the organization and our strength increasing to 600 including mines, collieries & FAMD. Eerie & Others visualizing the efforts to establish ST Jamshedpur. All the above and our strength went on our colleague Sri B. N. Pande left us for his heavenly abode at 87 years in the January 2013. On behalf of SJAB, TATA DISTRICT, JSR we convey our gratitude and on God for the departed soul to rest in peace. He was instrumental and very much dedicated for the development of our Brigade out of 29 state Districts of SJAB we feel to be the lone sub-district to have organised All India First -AID Competition twice at Jamshedpur in the year 1989 & 2001. We are thankful to TATA STEEL and our Head Office NEW DELHI for their support and guidance from time to time. As a result of our extraordinary performance, the Secretary General of Red Cross & SJAB upgraded us from the Sub district level to full-fledged District in the year 2001 named as TATA DISTRICT which is unique in the history of ST. JOHN AMBULANCE. We fought for TATA's name as being part of TATA STEEL IN THE NAME OF TATA DISTRICT, SJAB Jamshedpur. Tam thankful to TATA STEEL as we being the part of it, constantly imparting First-Aid training in the Eastern Region and other states of India. Since inception in the year 19390 Brigade has never absented from holding Annual Training Camp at various places in India and also thankful to the Doctors of TATA STEEL who have associated and at still participation of the BRIGADE.
